I provide a comprehensive foundation in the the fundamentals of piano tailored to each individual based on their goals and how they learn. This includes technique, sight reading, project pieces, and music theory. If a student shows interest, I also include improvisation, composition, and songwriting.
For students who enjoy singing, I teach them to accompany themselves by ear, or by following a “chart.” Sometimes, a chord-based approach can be the most accessible way to play the piano, similar to the way the guitar is learned.
